Cookie Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser technologies used on the Karken MyMeds website and portals, why we use them and how you can manage them.

1.About this policy

Karken MyMeds is a service of Karken Healthcare Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17112427). In this policy, “Karken”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Karken Healthcare Ltd.

This policy should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

2.What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let the website recognise your browser on later visits or as you move between pages.

Similar technologies include browser “local storage”, which lets a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. In this policy, “cookies” also covers these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.

3.Our approach in brief

  • If you only browse our public pages, get a quote, request a collection or track a delivery, we do not set any cookies or store anything in your browser.
  • When you sign in to an account, we use one essential cookie to keep you signed in securely.
  • Karken staff using the administration portal also have two functional menu preferences remembered in their browser.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, and we do not use tracking pixels on our website.

4.Cookies and storage we use

This table lists every cookie and storage item our website and portals use.

sb-…-auth-tokenCookie set by our website (first-party), only when you sign in to a pharmacy, patient, driver or Karken staff account. If it is large, it is split into numbered parts ending .0, .1 and so on. The middle part of the name identifies our login service.Strictly necessary. Keeps you securely signed in and lets our server confirm who you are before showing account information. Without it you cannot use the portals.Removed when you sign out. It has a maximum lifetime of 400 days, a technical limit set by our login software. This is not how long you stay signed in: the sign-in details it holds are short-lived and are renewed automatically only while your sign-in session remains valid.

The sign-in cookie contains the information needed to keep your session active. It does not contain your password, and it is not used for advertising or to track you across other websites.

5.Third-party services

Some parts of the service involve other companies. They operate under their own cookie and privacy policies.

  • Stripe: if you pay through Stripe checkout, you are taken to Stripe's own payment pages, which set their own cookies. The Stripe privacy policy (opens in a new tab) explains how Stripe uses them.
  • Google Maps: when one of our drivers chooses to navigate to a delivery, the address is opened in Google Maps on the driver's device, under Google's own terms and policies.
  • Postcodes.io: when you check a postcode in one of our forms, our server sends the postcode to Postcodes.io. Your browser does not contact Postcodes.io, so it cannot set cookies on your device.

The fonts on our website are served from our own website, not loaded from a third-party font service.

UK law allows websites to use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for without asking for consent first. We do not show a cookie consent banner because we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and our public pages store nothing in your browser.

Beyond the sign-in cookie, the only items we store are the two menu preferences in the Karken staff administration portal described above. They only remember how a staff member has arranged the menu, are not used to track anyone, and can be cleared at any time.

If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them, where the law requires it.

7.Managing cookies and browser storage

Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies and local storage, usually in their privacy or security settings. The help pages of your browser explain how.

  • If you block or delete the sign-in cookie, you will be signed out and will not be able to sign in to the pharmacy, patient, driver or staff portals. Our public pages, quote, collection request form and tracking page will still work.
  • If Karken staff clear local storage, the administration menu returns to its default layout. Nothing else is affected.
  • Signing out removes the sign-in cookie.

8.Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the cookies or technologies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
